Remarks

The Lieder-Quadrille was created in 1863 on the composer's trip to Russia and was initially called the Melange-Quadrille . When composing the work, the composer used German folk songs that were part of the repertoire of his wife, the singer Jetty Treffz . In detail it is u. a. about the songs you, you, are important to me , girls jerk, jerk, jerk or who wants to be among the soldiers . Strauss didn't think much of this composition himself. He had written the work rather casually. Contrary to his expectations, the Quadrille became a success both in Russia and in Vienna, where it received its current name. The work is performed again and again to this day. Parts of this composition were later used again in the Potpourri Quadrille .

The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 5 minutes and 55 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
