Life at these speeds was an emocore band from Portland , Oregon / USA .
history
At the beginning of the new millennium, the band was founded in the US state of Oregon on the west coast. In 2004, the band released two releases with the album of the same name and a split .
Two splits, one with Sinaloa and the other with Science of Yabra , will be released in 2005. The album To Your Health follows a year later .
In 2007 the band was on a European tour, including in many German , French and Dutch cities. After the tour the band effectively broke up.
style
The band plays mid-tempo DC hardcore emo . The band's music changes between quieter parts or songs and scruffy-hard guitar walls and screaming vocals. Partly somewhat chaotic song structures with spoken, accusatory and playful parts and more aggressive, angry outbursts shape the musical picture.
At Punknews.org , one writer describes the band's sound as follows:
“It bleeds the same blood as older punk rock and early (real) emo acts. There's as much honest Washington, DC sound on this as there is emo (back when emo was good and pure) influence. ”
The band is often compared to emo bands like Shotmaker , Rites of Spring or Drive Like Jehu .
