Likoshan ( Albanian  also  Likoshani , Serbian Ликошане Likošane ) is a village in the municipality of Drenas in central Kosovo .

history

During the Kosovo War of 1998/1999, the surrounding region of Drenica was the stronghold of the UÇK fighters. On February 28 and March 1, 1998, militarily equipped Serbian police forces penetrated Likoshan and the neighboring village of Qirez / Čirez. The localities were taken under constant fire with army helicopters and armored vehicles. 25 Albanians and four Serbian police officers died in the fierce firefights.

The 2011 census recorded exactly 600 inhabitants for Likoshan, all of them (100%) Albanians .
