Lilija Mychailiwna Hrynewytsch ( Ukrainian Лі́лія Миха́йлівна Грине́вич , born May 13, 1965 in Lviv , Ukrainian SSR ), is a Ukrainian teacher and politician of the Popular Front Party . From April 2016 to August 29, 2019, she was Minister of Science and Education of Ukraine.

biography

Lilia Hrynewytsch was born on May 13, 1965 in Lviv. From August to November 1987 she worked as a laboratory assistant at the Ivan Franko National University in Lviv . In 1989 she completed her studies in biochemistry there. From August 1988 to September 1992 she worked as a biology teacher at a school in Lviv. In 1993 she completed her business studies at the National Polytechnic University of Lviv . From August 1998 to June 2002 she was the director of a special school in Lviv. Until February 2006 she was a lecturer at the Institute of Economics and Law in Kiev . From February to August 2006 she was the director of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment in Kiev. From October 2006 to August 2009 she was the head of the Education and Science Department of the State Administrative Authority of the City of Kiev.

In the parliamentary elections in Ukraine in 2012 , Hrynevich was on the list of 14th All-Ukrainian Association "Fatherland" and was elected as a member of the Verkhovna Rada , where she was appointed chairman of the parliamentary committee for education and science.

In June 2013, Hrynevch was appointed deputy leader of the Fatherland Party. In the same month, she criticized the Ukrainian Ministry of Education's plans to introduce Russian as a second foreign language in schools. She accused the ministry of not having yet created conditions for high-quality teaching of a second foreign language.

In the parliamentary elections in Ukraine in 2014 , Hrynewytsch was in 9th place on the list of the Popular Front party .

From April 14, 2016 to August 29, 2019, she was Minister of Science and Education in the Hrojsman Cabinet .
