Lilja Mósesdóttir

Lilja Mósesdóttir (born November 11, 1961 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic politician.

Life

The doctor of economics was a member of the Icelandic parliament Althing for the constituency of Reykjavík-Süd from 2009 to 2013 , initially as a member of the left-green movement . She was a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Education , the Committee on Economics and Taxes (Vice- Chairperson 2009–2010) and the Committee on Trade (Chairperson 2009–2011). From 2009 to 2011 Lilja Mósesdóttir was also chair of the Icelandic delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe .

In March 2011 Lilja Mósesdóttir left together with Atli Gíslason the left-green faction in the Althing, but did not leave the party at first. She later founded the new Samstaða ("Solidarity") party, which found considerable support in a voter poll in early 2012, but ultimately did not run for the 2013 parliamentary elections in Iceland .
