Lilli Bohnke

Lilli Bohnke born von Mendelssohn (born November 30, 1897 in Berlin ; † May 11, 1928 in a car accident near Pasewalk ) was a German violinist .

Life

Lilli von Mendelssohn, the youngest daughter of the banker Franz von Mendelssohn (1865–1935) and his wife Marie von Mendelssohn , b. Westphal (1867–1957), married the violist , composer and conductor Emil Bohnke on September 2, 1919 . Her children were the businessman Walther Bohnke (1920–2000), the pianist Lilli Rosenthal , née. Bohnke (1922–1979) and the pianist Robert-Alexander Bohnke (1927–2004).

Lilli and Emil Bohnke died together in a car accident at Pasewalk while they were looking for a holiday home for their children.

She rests in the Dahlem cemetery , next to her husband. Their common grave was dedicated as an honor grave in Berlin until 2015 .
