Lillian Crott Berthung
Lillian Crott Berthung (* 1922 in Harstad , Norway ) is a Norwegian translator and author.
Career
In 1942 Lillian Berthung met Helmut Crott, her future husband, a German occupation soldier. She followed him to Germany in 1947 - he was able to return a year earlier. There she worked as a translator and interpreter. In 1989 her collection of poems Det var en gang et lite sted was published . She also writes stories for the daily newspaper Harstad Tidende .
When her husband, who never wanted to talk about his family history, died in 2009, she and her daughter Randi began to research and write down the history of his family, some of whom were Jewish. The book Don't tell anyone! My parents' love story was published in spring 2012. It stayed on Buchreport's bestseller list for 14 weeks .
