Limbic Entertainment is a German developer of video games based in Langen, Hesse .

history

Limbic Entertainment was founded in 2002 by Stephan Winter, Eike Radunz and Alexander Frey. Before that, they were employed by the German developer Sunflowers .

In 2003 Limbic Entertainment published the simulation Mein Pferdehof , which was released for both the PC and the Gameboy Advance . According to the company, the game has sold over 800,000 times.

After the development studio concentrated on games for children for a few years, it now mainly develops strategy games.

On June 16, 2017 it was announced that Limbic Entertainment is developing the sixth offshoot of the Tropico game series for the German publisher Kalypso Media . The game was released in March 2019. At the same time, the studio began developing the sandbox survival game Memories of Mars for 505 Games , which first started in June 2018 via the Steam Early Access program, and finally got a release in March 2020.
