The 505 Games SpA is an Italian game developer and publisher based in Milan .

description

The company was founded in 2006 with the support of the former Activision manager Ian Howe from the Italian game developer Digital Bros . founded as a subsidiary for the digital distribution of computer games. With this start-up, the company wanted to arm itself for the emerging changes in the marketing of computer games (e.g. Xbox Live Arcade , PlayStation Network ). With Cooking Mama , for which 505 Games was able to secure the publication rights in the USA and Europe, the publisher achieved a first respectable success, including 3.5 million copies sold in Europe. In 2013, 505 Games had an extremely successful business year with the release of the console versions of Terraria , the download title Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and the multiplayer shooter Payday 2 .
