Limerick Lake is a lake in the drainage basin of the Trent River and Lake Ontario in Limerick Township, Hastings County , Ontario , Canada . It is located approximately 2.5 kilometers northeast of the ontarian Highway 62 , 160 kilometers southwest of the Canadian capital Ottawa and 200 kilometers northeast of the ontarian capital Toronto .
Settlements
Most of the lakefront zone can only be reached by boat. Limerick Lake has only one permanent resident, but the lake has 154 seasonal residences, mostly inhabited in the summer months from June to September.

The coastal area around the lake is heavily forested and rich in animal species such as white-tailed deer , bears, elk , Canadian beavers , loons, and small game. The lake also contains several species of fish: largemouth bass , black bass , American perch , stone perch , American char, and common sunfish .
Leisure activities
Typically, Limerick Lake is frozen over from late November to late April, so the lake allows winter activities such as snowmobiling , cross-country skiing , snowshoeing, and dog sledding . The lake is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, fishermen and hunters.
