Linda Barnes

Linda Barnes (born June 6, 1949 in Detroit , Michigan , USA) is an American crime novelist .

Life

She studied English and acting in Boston and then worked as an acting teacher and director. First she wrote - with great success - plays, then (1981) she published her first detective novel . In her first four novels, it was the winery owner and actor Michael Spraggue who got involved in criminal cases.

But in 1985 she decided to introduce a professional investigator. Private detective Carlotta Carlyle made her first appearance in the short story "Der Glücksbringer" ( Lucky Penny ) , which also won a literary prize. From 1987 to the present, the confident, tall, red-haired investigator from Boston has had twelve full-length adventures with her tomcat TC Carlyle.
