Linden-Dahlhausen gymnastics club 1876/1888
The Linden-Dahlhauser Turnverein 1876/1888 eV , short LDT Bochum , is a sports club in Bochum . It offers its approximately 1700 members training opportunities in popular sports , competitive sports and health. Members can practice various sports at ten sports fields and gyms in the south of Bochum. The association was founded in 1876 and 1888 in the municipality of Linden . The club is managed by Martina Sauer; Managing director is Rolf Dams.
The offer includes: triathlon , gymnastics for children, health sports , jazz dance , bounce ball, fitness sports , aerobics , water aerobics , coronary sports , Zumba , gymnastics wheel , spinal gymnastics , dancing , as well as courses on stress reduction and relaxation techniques. The offer is aimed at people between three and 80 years of age.
history
In 1876, the Knappschaftsarzt and secret medical adviser Ferdinand Krüger , co-founder of the St. Josefs Hospital , founded a gymnastics club called "Linden-Dahlhauser Turnverein, Linden an der Ruhr" in the municipality of Linden. In the years that followed, the association received substantial support from Carlos Otto , industrialist and co-founder of the Dr. C. Otto & Comp. In the context of industrialization , the population was very interested in sporting activities in addition to hard physical work in the Ruhr mining industry and other iron and steel production companies.
In 1888, the Ruhr-Turn-Club in Dahlhausen was founded by Julius Schwindt, a miner leader and companion of Heinrich Kämpchen , and other men. In 1974 the associations TV Linden and TV Einigkeit Dahlhausen decided to merge, which took place in 1975.
In 2013 and 2015, the men's team became German champions in the bounce ball .
