Elena Goleschewa
Jelena Goleschewa ( Russian Елена Голешева , English transcription Yelena Golesheva, married Scheers ; born July 12, 1966 ) is a former Russian sprinter who had specialized in the 400-meter run .
Life
In 1992, starting for the United Team , she won bronze at the European Indoor Championships in Genoa . The following year, she was used at the World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart in the run-up to the 4 x 400 meter relay and thus contributed to winning the silver medal for the Russian team.
In 1997 she became Belgian champion. In 1998 she acquired Belgian nationality through marriage .
