Lindholmen was an imperial castle on Börringesjön in the then Danish historical province of Skåne . It is probably in the 1310s, during the time of Erik VI. Menveds .

The former Swedish King Albrecht III was born on Lindholmen . after his fall from the throne together with his son Erich from 1389 to 1395. I.a. In the presence of Queen Margarethe I and the Mecklenburg Duke Johann IV , the main negotiations on the peace treaty and the release of the imprisoned Albrecht took place here, with Lübeck Mayor Hinrich Westhof as negotiator. The contract was signed on June 17, 1395 on Lindholmen.

Lindholmen was the center of the province of Lindholm Len (Swedish Lindholmens län ), which became part of the new province of Malmöhus län around 1540 with Malmö as the new center. The fortress rapidly lost its importance in the following years.

Little more than a hill can be seen from the ruins in today's Swedish municipality of Svedala .
