Malmöhus län
Malmöhus län was from 1661 to 1997 a Swedish province ( län ) in the historical province of Schonen (Swedish Skåne ). She went on together with Kristianstads län in the province of Skåne län .
history
Malmöhus län (Danish Malmøhus Len ) was created in 1526 during the Danish period. However, this was smaller than the later Swedish Län. Around 1540 the province of Lindholm Len (Swedish Lindholmens län ) became part of Malmöhus län. In 1669 the now Swedish Malmöhus län was united with the provinces of Helsingborgs län and Landskrona län and retained its shape until 1997. The seat of the province was Malmö . The letter "M" for Malmöhus län was adopted for the province of Skåne län.
