Coordinates: 55 ° 29 ' N , 13 ° 30' O Skurup is a municipality ( Swedish kommun ) in the southern Swedish province Skane Lan and the historical province Scania . The main town of the municipality is Skurup .
geography
The municipality stretches from Horst Romeleåsen to the Swedish south coast. The river Skivarpsån flows out of the lake Svaneholmssjön and the Dybäcksån out of the Näsbyholmssjön .
Skurup borders the municipalities of Ystad , Sjöbo , Lund and Trelleborg .
history
The municipality was formed in 1971 during the municipal reform from Rydsgårds kommun , Vemmenhögs kommun and the then smaller Skurups kommun .
