Coordinates: 55 ° 51 ' N , 13 ° 40' O Hörby is a municipality ( Swedish kommun ) in the southern Swedish province Skane Lan and the historical province Scania . The main town of the municipality is Hörby .
history
Hörby developed into a trading center as early as the early Middle Ages . In the 17th century the place received an inn and in the 18th century it became a market place. Around 1880 Hörby became a railway junction, making it an important local center. The church dates from the 12th century and was rebuilt around 1890.
Hörby was "all the rage" as a mayor for the first time in Sweden in autumn 2018 Sweden Democrats would have to be used. However, this had to withdraw because of previous posts on social media.

Museums
There is a museum in the courthouse. In addition, the Boarpsstugan is located north of the village.
Buildings
Hörby is best known as the site of a major transmitter of the Swedish broadcasting for short-wave broadcasting known. Like the medium wave transmitter in Sölvesborg , this system broadcasts the program of the Swedish international service. There is also an almost 300 meter high guyed transmitter mast for VHF radio and TV on the area of the transmitter . There is also an exhibition hall in the transmitter building.

The Hörby Weide is a nature reserve and contains remains from the Iron Age
