Lindsey Collen

Lindsey Collen (* 1948 Mqunduli , near Umtata , Transkei , South Africa ) is a writer living in Mauritius .

Awards

She gained international fame when she received the Commonwealth Writers' Prize in the category Best Novel from Africa in 1994 for her novel Sita and Violence . This novel is banned in Mauritius. Her novel Boy was also awarded this prize in 2005 in the same category.
