Lindy Layton (born December 7, 1970 in London ; actually Belinda Kimberly Layton ) is a British singer .

biography

Together with Norman Cook , Layton was a founding member and singer of the band Beats International . With her, Layton landed the number one hit Dub Be Good to Me in her home country in March 1990 . The band's debut album peaked at number 17 in the UK.

Layton is said to have been the inspiration for Cook when composing the track Song for Lindy , which he released as Fatboy Slim on his debut album Better Living Through Chemistry in 1996 .

After Beats International broke up, she released three albums under her own name. In the late 1990s, she founded the band Hardknox together with guitarist Steve Procter .
