The Linner SV (officially: Linner Spielverein 1918 eV ) is a football club from the Krefeld district of Linn . The first team played for a year in the highest amateur league in the Lower Rhine region.

history

The association was founded in 1918. In 1947 the team missed the qualification for the newly created state league , the highest amateur league on the Lower Rhine at the time. In the promotion round, the game club failed at CfR Hardt and VfR Neuss . A year later they were promoted to the regional league, but after only a year the Linner had to go back to the district class. In the following 1949/50 season, the team was even passed into the district class, but managed to get promoted again immediately. In 1955 it went back down to the district class before the game club played again in the state league after two consecutive promotions. But as with the first ascent, the direct relegation followed. Many years followed at the local level before the Linner Spielverein was able to establish itself in the national league in the 2000s. Relegation to the district league in 2009 was followed by relegation to the district league A in 2015 and a year later to the district league B. In the 2016/17 season, he was directly promoted again.
