The Linta or Ilinta is one of the largest rivers in southern Madagascar . It flows through the two communities Ejeda and Androka over its 173 km length . Its catchment area covers about 5500 km², a completely very dry region with annual rainfall of less than 650 mm. It removes an average of 4.95 m³ per second of water at the Ejeda station, with the minimum being 0.07 m³ per second in September and the maximum being 12.6 m³ in February. On the Linta there are rare flood events that only last for a short time, but where the runoff can increase to up to 10,000 m³ per second. For this reason, their river bed is up to 600 meters wide.

The most important tributary of the Linta is called Manakaralahy , which flows into the Linta a few kilometers below Ejeda. The Linta flows into the Mozambique Strait and the Indian Ocean just below Androka .
