Ejeda (from French: adjutant ) is a municipality ( commune ) in the Atsimo-Andrefana region in southern Madagascar . In 2006 it had about 50,000 inhabitants who lived in 49 villages ( Fokontany ) on about 1830 km². Ejeda is located southeast of the city of Toliara on the RN10 national road and the Linta River .

The population of Ejeda consists largely of Mahafaly and a minority of Tandroy . They live mainly from cattle breeding, the cultivation of cassava , corn , sweet potatoes , peanuts , cowpeas , lentils and Bambara peanuts . In the surrounding area are gold and rubies mined. The city has a secondary school and a well-equipped, church-run hospital founded in 1966.
