Franconian Muschwitz (nature reserve)

The Fränkische Muschwitz nature reserve is located in the Langenbacher Forest , a community-free area west of Bad Steben in the Upper Franconian district of Kronach in Bavaria .
The 45.53 ha large area with the no. NSG 00432.01, which in 1996 under natural protection was provided, the core village extends northeast Nordhalben along to the border with Thuringia flowing Franconian Muschwitz , a left tributary of the Rodach .
The protection is placed to preserve the natural stream course with alluvial forest remnants and surrounding moist fallow land .
