The beech slopes nature reserve lies in the area of ​​the market town of Nordhalben in the Upper Franconian district of Kronach in Bavaria .

The 37.94 hectare area with the number NSG-00217.01, which was placed under nature protection in 1984 , extends south of the core town of Nordhalben and west of Langenau , a district of Geroldsgrün . Not far to the north-west flows the Stebenbach , not far east of the Rainersgrundbach and south of the Langenaubach . The St 2707 runs to the west and the Rodach flows , while the 21.1 hectare Schmidtsberg nature reserve extends to the northwest .
