Joachim Wiemeyer

Joachim Wiemeyer (* 1954 in Bad Rothenfelde ) is a German Catholic theologian .

Life

He completed his studies in economics , political science and Catholic theology in Münster as a graduate economist in 1979, with a doctorate in economics in 1983 (Dr. rer.pol.), Licentiate in 1988 in Catholic theology (lic. Theol.) And his habilitation in 1997 in Christian Social Sciences (Catholic Theology). From 1979 to 1987 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Cooperatives in Münster ( Erik Boettcher / Holger Bonus ). From 1987 to 1989 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Christian Social Sciences ( Franz Anton Fridolin Furger ). From 1989 to 1993 he was a research assistant in the expert group on the world economy and social ethics within the framework of Commission X (World Church) of the German Bishops' Conference (1/2 position) and university lecturer for social policy / political science at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences in North Germany in Osnabrück & Vechta (1/2 position ). Since 1998 he has been teaching as a professor for Christian social studies in Bochum . From 2000 to 2006 he was the spokesman for the working group of professors for Christian social ethics in Germany.

His work focuses on political ethics / church and democratic public, basic questions of business ethics, economic and social-ethical aspects of the church and church welfare organizations, unemployment / future of work, restructuring of the welfare state, social-ethical questions of European integration and world economic order / globalization.
