The Catholic University of Applied Sciences North Germany (KFHN) was a state-recognized university of applied sciences with the departments of social affairs and health care . It existed until October 1, 2005 at the Vechta (from 1971) and Osnabrück (from 1972) locations and was transferred to the Osnabrück State University of Applied Sciences and the Vechta State University of Applied Sciences . The last year of the KFHN diploma course was adopted in September 2007. The last rector of the KFH was Winfried Bach .

The University of Applied Sciences was funded by the Catholic University of Applied Sciences North Germany. The board of trustees consisted of the bishops of Osnabrück and Hildesheim and the episcopal official for the Oldenburg part of the diocese of Münster and (after the re-establishment of the archbishopric in 1995) the archbishop of Hamburg .
