Lion Island (from English lion 'lion' ) is a small island off the Scott coast of East Antarctica, Victoria . In Granite Harbor , it lies east of the confluence of the Hunt Glacier between Cape Archer and Dreikanter Head .

The island got its name from participants in the Terra Nova expedition (1910-1913) of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott .
