Lisa Gastoni (actually Elisabetta Gastoni ; born July 28, 1935 in Alassio ) is an Italian actress .

Life

Gastoni, the daughter of an Italian and an Irish woman, was temporarily interned in a fascist concentration camp run by the Mussolini regime during the Second World War. In the first post-war years she went to London with her parents, where she began a career as a photo model and actress after finishing school, initially at the theater. She received her first film role in They Who Dare in 1953 and achieved success in smaller British films, not least because of her "undeniably erotic charisma due to her well-formed body combined with her pretty face with green eyes" (mymovies). In 1961 she went to the thriving film city of Rome and from then on continued her career in Italian genre films . Her acquaintance with producer John Fryd led to her casting as the female lead in Svegliati ed uccidi , for which she received the Nastro d'Argento in 1966 .
