The administration of the Tristan da Cunha archipelago , as part of the British Overseas Territory of St. Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha , is managed by an administrator . This is sent directly, every two to three years, by the mother country and appointed by the governor . He is the Island Council ( English Iceland Council '), which, however, the Chief Islander is listed as selected chairman.
