In 1952/53 it was expanded according to plans by the architect Moritz Gombert and the choir room was redesigned in 1971/72. While the exterior is largely designed in neo-Romanesque forms, the interior was worked out in neo-Gothic forms. The nave of the four-bay pseudo-basilica is spanned by ribbed vaults. You enter the interior via the low square tower with a pyramid roof, to which a stair tower is attached. During the expansion of the church in 1952/53, a roof with an elevated transverse ridge was erected over the choir, which gives the appearance of a transept on the outside.
