List of the Bishops of Chełm

In a bull by Pope Gregory XI. on February 17, 1377 the diocese of Chełm ( Poland ) founded in 1366 and erected in 1375 is mentioned. Jan Biskupiec (* 1377) was on September 19, 1439 co- consecrator of the Bishop of Kujawy , Władysław Oporowski . Wojciech Skarszewski (* 1743) was born on November 29, 1790 by Pope Pius VI. appointed bishop of the diocese of Chełm and Lublin, united by him, and on September 23, 1805, bishop of the newly established diocese of Lublin . The bishopric Chełm is as titular Chełm continued.
