Stanisław Gomoliński

Stanisław Gomoliński (died 1604 , Poland-Lithuania ) was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Kamienec Podolski (1589–1591), Chełm (1591–1600) and Łuck (1600–1604).

He studied in Wittenberg in 1559 . Later he was secretary to the Polish king.

In 1580 he was ordained a priest, in 1583 he became a canon in Cracow and in 1589 in Sandomierz . That year he became Bishop of Kamienec. In 1591 Stanisław Gomoliński became Bishop of Chełm. He was involved in the establishment of the Zamoyski Academy in Zamość and was in 1595 in its founding statute by Pope Clement III. called. The Dominican monastery in Janów Podlaski was also built with his support.

From 1594 he was involved in talks between the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox bishops in Poland-Lithuania about a merger and in 1596 signed the Union of Brest .

In 1600 Stanisław Gomoliński became Bishop of Łuck. During this time he had the bishop's palace built in Krasny Staw . In 1604 he died.
