List of honorary citizens of Ruhpolding

The honorary citizenship is the highest honor that the Upper Bavarian municipality Ruhpolding can forgive. It is given to community citizens as recognition for outstanding achievements for the well-being and reputation of the place.

So far, twelve people have been made honorary citizens.

    Teacher
    Kleitner was a freelance study teacher and member of the Bavarian state parliament.

  3. Georg Eisenberger (born March 28, 1863 in Hutzenau, † May 1, 1945 in Ruhpolding)

    Awarded in 1919
    The "Hutzenauer", as he was called after his court, was mayor of Ruhpolding, from 1905 to 1920 a member of the Bavarian State Parliament for the Bavarian Farmers' Union and from 1919 to 1932 a member of the Reichstag.

    Ritter von Brettreich was Bavarian State Minister of the Interior from 1907 to 1912 and from 1916 to 1918.

    Pastor
    Friesinger was a pastor in Ruhpolding from 1954. He is the author of various works on the art history of the place.

    Filitz is the founder of the glasses manufacturer Otto Filitz & Co., which operated a second factory in Ruhpolding.
  12. Leonhard Schmucker (born December 10, 1919 in Ruhpolding; † January 15, 2019)
    District Administrator
    Schmucker was mayor of Ruhpolding from 1966 and then for 20 years, from 1970 to 1990, district administrator of the Traunstein district.
