List of governors of Jammu and Kashmir

The following table lists the governors of the state of Jammu and Kashmir since the office was established in 1965 with their respective terms of office. After the declared annexation of Jammu and Kashmir to India by Maharaja Hari Singh (1895–1961), he remained a representative head until 1952. From 1952 to 1965 his son Karan Singh , who had already acted as regent since 1949 , held this position as Sadr-e Riyasat . On March 30, 1965, he became the state's first governor.

A law passed in August 2019 reorganized the state of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories on October 31, 2019: Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh .
