List of the disciples of Abdu'l Baha

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shoghi Effendi , the guardian of the Baha'i religion, designated a total of 19 Baha'i from western states as disciples of Abdul-Baha (also called Heralds of the Covenant ) , who were then published between 1930 and 1933 in the Baha'i magazine The Bahá'í World were published. Since a large part of these disciples had already died at the time of the designation, it is an honorary title for their pioneering work and services to the spread of the Baha'i religion in the West. The number 19 refers to the number 19, sacred in Babism, and is analogous to the 19 apostles of Baha'u'llah, also honored by Shogi Effendi .
