Sandstone slab | L3073 (near Ohmbrücke) Location floor: 22, parcel: 366 |
Wappenstein, which adorned the parapet of the three-arched sandstone bridge over the Ohm, built in 1665. The stone, also known as the “mayor's stone” in Kirchhain, bears the coats of arms of the mayor at the time, the builder and the lay judges. The monument was damaged in the fighting for Kirchhain on March 28, 1945 at the top left. After the bridge was demolished in the 1960s, the stone was moved to a meadow in the Ohm valley. At the initiative of local associations, the stone was moved to its current location in 2015. | 1665 |
