Andreas Church and cemetery

Andreas Church and cemetery Luise-Benger-Strasse 2 1386 (?), 1500, 1895 Possibly the oldest parts of the church come from a chapel mentioned in 1386; In any case, a bell from the 14th century hangs in the tower. In 1490 the Uhlbach church was elevated to a parish church. A choir arch from around 1500 has been preserved from the old village church. The church was redesigned in 1895 by Heinrich Dolmetsch. Instead of the old flat ceiling, he had a wooden vault built on which images of the apostles, the virtues and the signs of the zodiac can be seen. This cosmos is dominated by the crucified Christ. In the choir there is a relief with the entombment of Christ and a window showing the resurrection. Dolmetsch's pictures were later whitewashed, but restored in the course of renovations from 1988-1990. The donor for the redesign of the church in 1895 Gottlieb Benger received a family chair in the church. There are three armchairs next to the choir, covered by a carved canopy. The churchyard is fenced and contains several monumental grave monuments. Heinrich Dolmetsch (1895)
