List of cultural monuments in Schwarzkollm

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of cultural monuments in Schwarzkollm includes the cultural monuments of the district of Schwarzkollm in the Saxon city of Hoyerswerda , which were recorded by the State Office for Monument Preservation of Saxony until August 2017 (excluding archaeological cultural monuments). The notes are to be observed.

Schwarzkollm is a street village with a strip and large block corridor similar to a win. The place name goes back to Cholm, "conical hill", which refers to the Grauwacke surrounding the village. In 1847 a fire destroyed almost all the houses that were still built of wood with thatched roofs at that time. The current buildings date from the years after 1847. The structure of the courtyards built on both sides of the road has come across the village completely authentically. The mostly single-storey, rarely two-storey houses and the one-storey outbuildings (pull-out houses) usually face the street with the gable and delimit a courtyard with the barn at the back and the front courtyard wall, whereby the buildings are almost always built together. There is often another barn at the back of the property. Brick, which was left unplastered, served as building material.

(map)
Around 1900 On June 1, 1874, the Falkenberg - Hoyerswerda - Kohlfurt railway line (now Wegliniec / Poland) went into operation. The route touches Schwarzkollm to the north. The place got its own station with a bus shelter south of the tracks. The same was done in Umbinde, where it is long and narrow with five Uminde yokes in length and one in width. The execution in the surrounding area is reminiscent of a traditional architectural form, as used in the Heimat style, but which did not occur in the Hoyerswerda region. Nonetheless, the barely changed bus shelter is significant in terms of both construction and railway history. 08975427

2nd half of the 19th century On plans from the 18th century (Schenk and Adam Friedrich Zürner, map of Upper Lusatia, 1759), Collm / Schwarzkollm are the signs of a mountain or quarry, which means the 154 meter high Steinberg east of the village, pitch furnace, brick barn, tavern, church with pastorate, residence of a hunter or forest servant in the village and blacksmith. What was called the residence of a hunter or forest servant in the 18th century became a royal forester's lodge a little later with the number 67, if it wasn't already in Zürner's time. The protected building is divided into two parts, the left part with a passage, the right part with an outside staircase, everything plastered. In the right part of the former royal forester's house (1909). A postcard from 1922 shows a modest single-storey building with a staircase on the long side and two flanking windows as a forester's office. It cannot be determined whether the forestry department at Dorfstrasse 67 replaced this building or whether it was a different building. There is a local and regional historical significance. 08975456

school
school Dorfstrasse 73
(map)
Around 1890 In 1770 a school was built in the village. In 1847 a fire destroyed almost all the houses that were still built of wood with thatched roofs at that time. The current buildings date from the years after 1847. This also applies to the school. In the southern part of the village a kind of village center can be made out, from which various roads branch off. This is where the church and churchyard are located, and the school, pushed in between. As is typical for the area in the mid-19th century, this consists of a single-storey brick building. It has a full basement, so that the classrooms come up quite high and a beautiful staircase with stepped cheeks had to be placed in front of the central main entrance on the long side facing the square. The rather high windows - two each on the sides of the entrance and three on the gables, plus one in each of the gable triangles - end with segmental arches. The corners are accentuated by protruding pilasters, which protrude over the main cornice and have a triangular finish. The gable triangles, which also end with decorative friezes in the verge, are particularly detailed. As a typical regional school building from the middle of the 19th century, the school has a historical significance. There are not many school buildings in the area that are so unchanged and so clearly recognizable in type. It is also important in terms of local history. 08975460

The six high windows on the front long side are equally designed. The two outermost axes are slightly out of alignment. All corners - including those of the recesses in the front facade - are emphasized by grooved pilasters. The cornices of the verges, a cornice at floor level and the main cornice are particularly carefully designed. As a typical regional building of its type and the mid-19th century, the rectory has an architectural and local history significance. Number 11 is a four-sided closed courtyard, probably a garden food, which has overall monument value. The interconnected buildings are massive, plastered, single-storey and completely preserved. Courtyards such as Koselbruch 11 bear witness to the region's early construction methods and are therefore of particular importance in terms of architectural and regional history. 08975426

Barn of a farm, now part of the Krabatmühle Adventure Farm, moved from Wittichenau, Dubring district, Dubring 22 Koselbruch 22
(map)
Around 1800 Number 22 is a new creation in an area that was never built up until a few years ago. The Krabatmühle adventure farm was created here for tourist purposes. For this purpose, buildings that had been demolished elsewhere were also moved here, including those from Wittichenau, Dubring district, Dubring 22, the half-timbered barn. Another five-zone barn from Wittichenau, Sollschwitz, number 43, was also moved here, but no longer recognized as a monument. Significant in terms of building history and regional history

Deletion of the Sollschwitzer barn in 2012. In Sollschwitz number 43 near Wittichenau there was a large five-zone barn, which at the time was not available on site. The possibility arose that the barn could be moved to the Krabathof in Schwarzkollm. In view of the last possibility, the project was approved. A good measurement was made and all components were numbered. The rebuilding of the barn was in the hands of a construction management inexperienced in the preservation of monuments. The carpenter rebuilt the barn without adhering to the rules for scientifically based relocation. The barn is newly created as an image of itself, connections appear different, the appearance differs in detail from the previous state in essential statements when viewed from close up. Furthermore, the building owner and management are not prepared to rebuild the roof in a form suitable for historic monuments. For this reason it is necessary to remove the new barn as a cultural monument from the list.

Barn of a mill property (Brising mill)
Barn of a mill property (Brising mill) Mühlenweg 2
(map)
18th century On the map of Upper Lusatia by Zürner and Schenk from 1759, Mühlweg 2 is marked as Brising-Mühle. The determination as a mill is also verified by the course of the mill ditch. The Mühlenhof itself has already been changed. Only the barn, which is a bit away from the courtyard, is a boarded-up building with a gable roof and a side wall on the field. It is questionable whether the mill has anything to do with the legendary Krabatmühle, but the barn is of architectural and local significance. 09303017

  • This list is not suitable for deriving binding statements on the monument status of an object. As far as a legally binding determination of the listed property of an object is desired, the owner can apply to the responsible lower monument protection authority for a notice.
  • The official list of cultural monuments is never closed. It is permanently changed through clarifications, new additions or deletions. A transfer of such changes to this list is not guaranteed at the moment.
  • The monument quality of an object does not depend on its entry in this or the official list. Objects that are not listed can also be monuments.
  • Basically, the property of a monument extends to the substance and appearance as a whole, including the interior. Deviating applies if only parts are expressly protected (e.g. the facade).
