On plans from the 18th century (Schenk and Adam Friedrich Zürner, Map of Upper Lusatia, 1759), Zeißig is a place with an outbuilding and at times a gentleman's sheep farm. The village has a wide and long village green, which at its northern end reveals a closure with four courtyards. Zeißig was incorporated into Hoyerswerda in 1996.

The courtyard is set up a little differently than most other courtyards. Here, the house and the outbuilding with the gable do not point to the Anger, but rather the full length of the house extends along the eaves along the Angers, it is also not, as usual, one, but two-story. A large passage ensures the entrance to the courtyard. As with the other courtyards, the side buildings and the transverse barn at the back delimit a courtyard, but brick was used as building material. The side buildings are single-storey. The residential building with the aforementioned passage and two side buildings are under protection. The property is a testimony to rural life and business in the past. Barn number 31a also belongs to the farm. This is set parallel to the barn that closes the courtyard. Plastic "LPG farmer"
Plastic "LPG farmer" Dorfaue 31 (opposite)
(map)
1960 The sculpture "LPG-Bauer" was created by the Hoyerswerda city sculptor Jürgen von Woyski . It is made of bronze and shows a self-confident, upright peasant with legs apart, with a round head and short hair, who is holding fruit with his strong, folded arms. The man wears rubber boots with his trousers tucked into and a short smock, it could also be a longer shirt. The sculpture, created in 1960, is an artistic expression of its time, at the same time quite realistic, but compressed in its design and reduced to the essential and meaningful. It testifies to Jürgen von Woyski's claim and high level of innovation. It is artistically important. Until 2006 the sculpture stood at Bautzener Straße 36 in Zeissig. 09304337

(map)
Around 1850 It is an old farm on the long north-east side of the Angers, which was never completely built up, but only with the four farms in the middle part that still exist today. These courtyards have been preserved in their original structure. The courtyard is set up a little differently than most other courtyards. Here, as with number 31, the house and the outbuilding with the gable do not face the Anger, but rather the full length of the house extends along the eaves along the Angers. It is also not one and a half story, as usual, with a high jamb. A large passage ensures the entrance to the courtyard. As with the other courtyards, the side buildings delimit a courtyard and brick, which has a special material aesthetic, was used as building material. A barn arranged transversely at the rear is missing and was probably demolished. The side buildings are single-storey. The property is a testimony to rural life and business in the past. In terms of the structure and the brick material, the courtyard and buildings also bear witness to the way the region was built in terms of architectural history. 08975700

(card)
2nd half of the 19th century Klein Zeißig is a small place, which is probably closer to Kühnicht than to the more southern Groß Zeißig. The same is built in brick and has a single storey with a jamb. The structure corresponds to the traditional scheme. The two windows in the gable are decorated with a round arch. bus depot
bus depot Road B 8 (No. 8)
(map)
1961–1962 The Zeißig industrial site was created at the same time as the Hoyerswerda Neustadt. Number 8 is the bus depot, which consists of four reinforced concrete halls built together. The roof structure spans a large area in flat arches, and seven saddle sheds per hall ensure uniform lighting. The halls are designed to be extremely sophisticated not only in terms of construction, but also in terms of form. Since this hall construction was only carried out in Rostock, Schwarze Pumpe and Lauchhammer, there is a unique value. In addition, the bus depot is not only important in terms of architectural history, but also as a testimony to local public transport in terms of traffic and technology. 08975740
