Richard Pühringer spent his school days in Gallneukirchen and, after graduating from secondary school, attended grammar school in Horn (Lower Austria) ; he lived in the Canisiusheim , an interdiocesan seminary for late professions in Horn. After graduating from high school in 1971, he spent the novitiate with the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in Feldkirch and Liechtenstein . He studied Roman Catholic theology at the University of Salzburg . The topic of his diploma thesis was “The Adoration of St. Joseph in History ”. On June 30, 1972 he made his temporary and on October 20, 1977 his perpetual profession . On November 27, 1977, he became a deacon , on 29 June 1978 concerning the priests ordained. His primary preacher was Ferdinand Holböck .

Until the summer of 1979 he worked as an educator and religion teacher for the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in Neuenheerse , then until 1982 in Bobingen . Until 1986 he was chaplain at the Church of St. Peter and Paul (Lindenberg im Allgäu) , which at that time was looked after by his religious community. From 1986 to 1989 he left the order and became Donate in the Order of the Cross , which forms the elite group in the Engelwerk , in order to work for the Catholic Scouts of Europe (KPE) (which he co-founded), where he says he worked from 1986 to 1996 exercised the function of a federal chaplain for the girls' union.

As early as 1981 he was active as a curate for the KPE girl tribes in the state of Würzburg and accompanied numerous events and tent camps . In 1984 he accepted the so-called “Guardian Angel Promise” at the KPE retreat (preliminary stage of the consecrations in the angel factory ). From 1986 he was responsible for the entire girls' union, shaped the camps , retreats and leadership courses of the KPE as well as the work of the “raiders” (girls from 16/17 years). He worked as a KPE curate at international scout events of the UIGSE ( Routes d'Europe , Eurojam ). Even after 1996 he was the curator of leadership courses and continued to offer retreats for female scouts and “raiders” of the KPE. Most recently, 2014 was invited to a retreat with Pühringer at the Ancillae Domini in Kleinwolfstein.

During this time he also supported the pilgrimage pastoral care in Maria Vesperbild . In his "religious CV" he stated that he in 1989 by the Order of the Cross exklaustriert was and then joined the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. Since then he has been active in extraordinary pastoral care. He lives in the mission and retreat house in Kufstein - Kleinholz (Austria), leads retreats and retreats there - including for members of the KPE - accompanies pilgrimages to Padua and occasionally oversees programs on Radio Maria .

Proximity to the Engelwerk

In 1986 Richard Pühringer discussed plans for the establishment of a new religious order close to the Engelwerk with KPE founder Andreas Hönisch and Ingo Dollinger , the rector of the Engelwerk University Institutum Sapientiæ in Anápolis , Brazil ; Also present was the priest Heinrich Morscher , who professed to be a member of the Engelwerk , like Pühringer, a former missionary of the Precious Blood. On May 30, 1988, the Communion of the Servants of Jesus and Mary was organized. Pühringer represented the community originally called Servi et Servæ Jesu et Mariae in the United Apostolate of Mary (VAM), in which the KPE and the Engelwerk were also represented.

According to a report by the radio broadcaster Radio Mainwelle , Pühringer is said to have been involved in a conflict at the secondary school of the Königgrätz school sisters in Auerbach in the Upper Palatinate as a member of the federal leadership of the European Catholic Scouting Association . The Bavarian Ministry of Culture , the Archdiocese of Bamberg and the other sponsors of the school's special purpose association complained that 14 pages had been torn out of the biology books approved by the Ministry for the 10th grade on the subject of "Sexuality and Reproduction" and shortly afterwards also the biology book was drafted for the 8th grade. The European Catholic Scouting Association, which is close to the angelworks , reported in 1994 that seven of its members were active as teachers at the school.

Pühringer's membership in the Engelwerk after 2002 is unclear. Pühringer declared that in 1989 he left the Order of the Cross - a group in the Engelwerk. In 2002 Pühringer worked as a pastor for the female branch of the Order of the Cross in the Engelwerk in Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser .
