Heinrich Morscher

Father Heinrich Morscher (born on August 4, 1926 in Weiler , died on June 2, 2012 in Röthis ) was an Austrian Roman Catholic priest , monk of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood and activist of the Angel Work , who is part of the Canons Regular of the Holy Cross had engaged.

In 1986 Morscher, who professed to be a member of the Engelwerk, and his friar Richard Pühringer discussed plans to found a new religious community close to the Engelwerk with KPE founder Andreas Hönisch and Ingo Dollinger , the rector of the Engelwerk-Hochschule Institutum Sapientiæ in Anápolis , Brazil ; Both had also belonged to the Order of the Cross in the Engelwerk since 1985, from which Morscher in 1988 (according to an unconfirmed assumption by Heribert Bastels, Superior of the Collegium Sanctissimae Trinitatis in Mayerling ) and a little later also Pühringer (in his case temporarily until the beginning of his pastoral work for the Order of the Cross ) separated again. On May 30, 1988, the Communion of the Servants of Jesus and Mary was organized.

In 2001, in connection with Morscher and Pühringer at the Auerbacher Realschule, there was a conflict between the Königgrätz school sisters and the Bavarian Ministry of Education , the Archdiocese of Bamberg and the other sponsors of the administrative association, the district of Amberg-Sulzbach and the city of Auerbach, since the school was in the Biology books approved by the Ministry for the 10th grade on the subject of "Sexuality and Reproduction" 14 pages had been torn out and shortly afterwards the biology book for the 8th grade was also withdrawn. In the opinion of critics, this was used to exercise censorship . In addition, there were reports about scary pedagogy in kindergarten, such as threatening hell punishments , dress codes for schoolgirls and connections of some members of the order to the Engelwerk . The Engelwerk youth organization, Catholic Scouting in Europe , reported in 1994 that seven of its members were teaching at the school.

In the course of the investigations it turned out that Morscher had already come to the monastery as a chaplain in 1972 and later joined the Engelwerk management organization "Canon Regulars of the Holy Cross". After an intervention by Minister of Education Monika Hohlmeier (CSU) , the Vatican deposed the Bavarian provincial leadership of the school sisters. Six of the twelve nuns employed at the school left the school and were able to settle in their dioceses with the support of the former (arch) bishops of Salzburg and St. Pölten , Georg Eder and Engelwerk member Kurt Krenn . In January 2002 Eder compared the state measures in this matter with the methods of the Nazi regime ; the methods were the same and only the actors would have changed. He admitted "own good experiences" with the Engelwerk and denied that it was a sect . The Salzburg auxiliary bishop Andreas Laun also defended the conduct of the nuns concerned. The Bavarian State Parliament , on the other hand, welcomed the departure of the nuns who had worked as teachers.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Bamberg banned Morscher because of these incidents, the celebration of fairs and the holding of religious services and spiritual exercises . The permission to preach and the power to confess in the archbishopric were also withdrawn from him. Morscher was banished from the territory of the archbishopric . After these church sentences came into force , Bishop Krenn Morscher accepted into the diocese of St. Pölten. Morscher died on June 2, 2012 in Röthis.
