List of natural monuments in Vienna / Floridsdorf

The list of natural monuments in Vienna / Floridsdorf lists all objects designated as natural monuments in the 21st Viennese district of Floridsdorf . According to the definition of the City of Vienna, the 12 natural monuments are nine individual natural monuments and three flat natural monuments.

		Ash ( Fraxinus excelsior )	600	Vienna , Jedleseer Straße / Sinawastingasse location	The ash is probably a relic of the former population here. Its trunk circumference is 2.70 m, the tree crown has a diameter of 20 m. The size of the crown defines the townscape and also towers above the north bridge .		11/11/1974
		2 winter linden ( Tilia cordata )	607	Vienna , Hagenbrunner Strasse, at the Herrnholz location	The two linden trees stand next to the wayside cross on the border and are worth preserving, not least because of their location in the landscape.		01/09/1975

		Four "jumps"	695	Vienna , Bisamberg location	The "Schanzen" not only have cultural and historical value as part of Vienna's defensive line, but are also plant-physiological vegetation islands with xerophilic shrubs which, together with the surrounding dry grassland of the Bisamberg, are the location of a large number of rare protected plants.		06/05/1981
		3 spruce trees ( Picea abies )	757	Vienna , Stammersdorfer Zentralfriedhof location	This group of trees is also of ecological importance as the main sleeping place for a group of up to 30 long-eared owls.		October 19, 1984
		Plane tree ( Platanus x hybrida )	758	Vienna , Leopold-Ferstl-Gasse 9 location	The plane tree has a trunk circumference of 403 cm, a height of approx. 25 m and a crown diameter of 22 m. Their broad crown structure is particularly remarkable. It was probably made at the end of the 19th century. planted when the schoolyard of the nearby elementary school was laid out. 		Summer linden ( Tilia platyphyllos )	785	Vienna , Josef-Türk-Gasse, in front of No. 8 location	The summer linden tree has a circumference of 2.50 m and a height of approx. 18 m. and shapes the image of Jedlesee .		04/21/2004
		Black poplar ( Populus nigra )	788	Vienna , Türkisgasse, in front of No. 2 location	The trunk circumference of the poplar is 370 cm, the height approx. 28 m and the crown diameter approx. 12 m. It shapes the image of the local settlement.		01/12/2004
		Weeping Cord Tree ( Sophora japonica Pendula )	792	Vienna , Pius-Parsch-Platz, in front of the church location	The tree has a trunk circumference of 1.6 m (measured 1 m from the ground) and a height of around 5 m. The crown diameter is 4.8 m, the roots are partially sealed. Because of its distinctive, irregularly shaped crown, its dense foliage and generally because of its rarity in our area, this tree was placed under protection.		03/11/2005
		Black elder ( Sambucus nigra )	802	Vienna , Hassingergasse, between No. 29 & 31 location	The tree has a trunk circumference of 1.70 m (measured at a height of 1 m from the ground), a crown diameter of approx. 7 m and a height of 10 m. Its kind is common in our area, but it is a very noticeable tree individual.		05/04/2007
