List of natural monuments in Vienna / Favoriten

The list of natural monuments in Vienna / Favoriten lists all the objects designated as natural monuments in the 10th Viennese district of Favoriten . According to the definition of the City of Vienna, the 12 natural monuments are five individual natural monuments and one group natural monument.

		Wienerbergteich and surroundings	639	Vienna , Wienerberggrund, east of Triester Str. Location	The Wienerbergteich was created by excavating clay for brick production. These are deposits of the Potanian lake with yellow clay and gray and blue tegel .		08/24/1976
		English oak ( Quercus robur )	701	Vienna , Puchsbaumgasse KG:  Favoriten GrStNr: 1435/41 location	The common oak ( Quercus robur ) was placed under protection in 1982 because of its size and shape. At that time it had a trunk circumference of 2.7 meters and a uniform crown with a diameter of 20 meters. The age of the tree was estimated to be around 120 years.		04/05/1982

		Dry grass "Hohlweg am Johannesberg"	745	Vienna , Am Johannesberg KG:  Unterlaa GrStNr: 156 Location	The ravine on Johannesberg is the only remaining loess ravine in the south of Vienna. On its slopes, it houses ferns and flowering plants that are endangered by the Red List.		11/06/1990

		Giant habitat	795	Vienna , Goldberg KG:  Oberlaa Stadt GrStNr: 1445; 1456 location	The area on the Goldberg in the Oberlaa district houses an occurrence of the strictly protected European ground squirrel ( Spermophilus citellus ).		09/01/2007
		Horse chestnut ( Aesculus hippocastanum )	808	Vienna , Hintere Liesingbachstraße in front of ONr. 1 KG:  Oberlaa Land GrStNr: 2373/2 location	The common horse chestnut ( Aesculus hippocastanum ) has a trunk circumference of 2.75 meters, a crown diameter of about 10 meters and a height of about 18 meters. The tree was placed under protection due to the free standing crown and the effect on the townscape.		11/08/2007
		Hanging ash ( Fraxinus excelsior 'Pendula' )	830	Vienna , Triester Straße 1, Friedhof Matzleinsdorf KG:  Favoriten GrStNr: 1890/1 Location	The hanging ash ( Fraxinus excelsior 'Pendula' ) has an asymmetrical shape and a trunk circumference of 1.50 meters at a height of one meter. Its crown diameter is around 11 meters and its height is estimated to be around 7.50 meters. The ash, which was around 60 years old when it was placed under protection, was placed under protection due to its special character.		07/03/2012
		Blue Atlas Cedar ( Cedrus atlantica 'Glauca' )	831	Vienna , Triester Straße 1, Friedhof Matzleinsdorf KG:  Favoriten GrStNr: 1890/1 Location	The blue atlantica cedar ( Cedrus atlantica 'Glauca' ) divides into two trunks at a distance of around 2.50 meters and has a uniform, cone-shaped appearance. The tree has a trunk circumference of 2.10 meters at a height of one meter, has a crown diameter of around 16 meters and a height of around 9 meters. The age at the time it was placed under protection was estimated to be around 60 years, whereby the atlas cedar is a natural formation worthy of protection due to its special character.		07/03/2012
