List of natural monuments in Vienna / Leopoldstadt

The list of natural monuments in Vienna / Leopoldstadt lists all objects designated as natural monuments in the 2nd Viennese district Leopoldstadt . According to the definition of the City of Vienna, the 18 natural monuments are 13 individual natural monuments, two group natural monuments and three planar natural monuments.

		Ash ( Fraxinus excelsior )	430	Vienna , Prater-Stemmerallee, KGA Heustadelwasser location	The ash has a chest height of 3 m, the height and the crown diameter are each about 17 m. In addition, it is significant due to its pronounced crown formation.		06/07/1955
		White poplar ( Populus alba ), black poplar ( Populus nigra )	525	Vienna , Engerthstraße 148 KG:  Leopoldstadt GrStNr: 2625/9 location	Originally, four poplars were placed under protection in the green space at the corner of Innstrasse and Engerthstrasse because of their special character for the landscape. A white poplar ( Populus alba ) and a black poplar ( Populus nigra ) have survived from the natural monument .		07/28/1970
		Plane avenue (Platanus sp.)	539	Vienna , Innstraße KG:  Leopoldstadt GrStNr: 4186/4 Location	The plane tree avenue was placed under protection due to its peculiarity. It stretches between Pasettistraße and Handelskai, but is mainly located in the adjacent Brigittenau district.		08/27/1971

		Horse chestnut row ( Aesculus hippocastanum )	674	Vienna , Obere Augartenstraße KG:  Leopoldstadt GrStNr: 561/1; 568/1; 581; 582 location	The Kastanienallee on Oberen Augartenstrasse was first mentioned in 1775, and today's trees are up to a hundred years old.		05/15/1979

		Ginkgo ( Ginkgo biloba )	807	Vienna , Vivariumstraße 17 KG:  Leopoldstadt GrStNr: 1322/3 location	The Ginko Ginkgo ( Ginkgo biloba ) in the Green Prater is an old tree with very good vitality.		11/08/2007
		Sessile oak ( Quercus petraea )	818	Vienna , Prater - Belvedereallee KG:  Leopoldstadt GrStNr: 353 Location	The tree has a trunk circumference of 4.50 m (measured at a height of 1 m from the ground), a crown diameter of approx. 29 m and a height of approx. 30 m. The mighty old tree dominates this part of Belvedereallee. The sweeping branches hang far over the path into the adjacent meadow area.		02/08/2009
		Common plane tree ( Platanus x hispanica )	821	Vienna , Schwarzingergasse 4 / Kleine Pfarrgasse 10 KG:  Leopoldstadt GrStNr: 353 Location	The maple-leaved plane tree ( Platanus x hispanica ) had a trunk circumference of 3.35 meters, a crown diameter of about 18 meters and a height of about 32 meters at a height of one meter at the time of protection.		08/16/2010
