The list of natural monuments in Hanover names the natural monuments in Hanover in the Hanover region in Lower Saxony . The Hanover region has taken on the tasks of the lower nature conservation authority.

Gnarled old tree, the crown of which was never pruned because of its location in the middle of the forest. In front of the oak there is a small information board with the following text: “Oak (Quercus robur), approx. 320 years old, approx. 38 m high, trunk circumference 5.80 m, crown width approx. 20 m. Declared a natural monument on December 28, 1937 " |

The red beech, which is rare because of its size and beautifully grown, stands on the former farm of the long-established Rotermund farming family. It is reminiscent of the village past of Vahrenwald. | ||

Isernhagen-Süd ( 52 ° 26 ′ 29.5 ″ N , 9 ° 47 ′ 55.9 ″ E ) |
The (formerly 22) oaks were planted by a farmer for wood extraction and to provide shade for grazing cattle. The oak trees are a clear testimony to the village's past. It can be seen as "Eichenkamp", as it has been typical of Niedersachsenhöfe from time immemorial. Therefore it has a special local history. | ||

The linden tree was planted on the former farm of the Pauling family in the village of Badenstedt and is therefore of local importance. It grew freely and was particularly beautiful. | ||

ND-H 246 | Trees around the former Ahlem leaf hut |
Ahlem ( 52 ° 22 ′ 40 ″ N , 9 ° 40 ′ 18.1 ″ E ) |
The trees are reminiscent of the former leaf hut. This belonged to the Israelite horticultural school , which was closed on June 30, 1942. From September 1943 to April 8, 1945 there was a substitute police prison for the Gestapo. The tabernacle was used by the Gestapo as a place of execution in March 1945 and burned down when it withdrew. The natural monument is therefore of historical and local significance. | ||

The oak is a particularly large, beautiful tree that characterizes the townscape. It was planted on November 10, 1883 by the teacher Mohrhoff and a school class in honor of Martin Luther's 400th birthday in front of the Vinnhorster schoolhouse. This is why it is also known as the "Luther Oak". | ||

Former natural monuments
When the Hanover region took over responsibility, numerous natural monuments in the city of Hanover lost their status. Since then, protection has been lifted for other natural monuments.

For local history reasons, the trees are protected as the remains of a former avenue that led to the village schoolhouse. One of the 4 trees was felled in 2015/16, the others are no longer recognizable as an avenue. Therefore deleted from the list of monuments in October 2016. |
