List of neighborhoods in the Minato district of Tokyo
This list of the districts of the Tokyo district of Minato enumerates all today's districts in the area of Minato , Tokyo Prefecture in the southeast of Tokyo . Only the clearly delimited areas are listed, as they are also used for postal addresses in Japan .
Most districts consist of several numbered quarters ( 丁目 , chōme ), which usually span several blocks. In some Tokyo districts, several districts are combined into one area ( 地区 , chiku ; often also 地域 , chiiki ) for which certain administrative tasks are carried out together. In Minato, the northwestern areas of Akasaka and Azabu largely correspond to the districts of the same name in the old city of Tokyo that existed until 1947 , the remaining three areas belonged to the Shiba district.
