List of water protection areas in Hamburg
In the list of water protection areas in Hamburg , the legally established water protection areas (WSG) in Hamburg are listed, which serve to secure the public water supply.
history
Since 1990 the Hamburg Senate has established six water protection areas with a total area of 97 km². The water protection areas thus take up around 13 percent of the national territory. The designation of a protected area for a seventh water protection area is in preparation: the drinking water extraction area of the south well group of the Stellingen waterworks.
In 2000, the WSG Langenhorn / Glashütte was designated as the first and so far only transnational water protection area located in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein .
