history
In 1988 the Protected Areas and Compensation Ordinance (SchALVO) of the state of Baden-Württemberg came into force. In accordance with Section 5 (1) of the SchALVO, the LUBW annually publishes a declaratory list of problem and redevelopment areas and those water protection areas in which the arrangement of protective provisions in accordance with Section 5 (4) of the SchALVO may be considered. The declaratory list is a listing of the water protection areas determined as of January 1st according to the criteria of § 5 SchALVO.
Other changes, for example changes that have occurred due to the repeal and redefinition of water protection areas, must be inquired at the lower water authorities, d. H. at the district offices of the Baden-Württemberg rural and urban districts.
The respective rural and urban districts provide information on the development of nitrate concentrations in the individual water protection areas every year and either issue requirements for farmers for the following year or relax previous management requirements on the basis of the SchALVO.
The SchALVO was amended on March 1, 2001. In addition to compliance with certain nitrate soil values, which are measured annually from October 15 to November 15, the SchALVO stipulates, among other things, that fertilization and plant protection measures must be carried out in the water protection areas according to good professional practice in order to prevent the groundwater To protect impairment caused by substance inputs from land management.
