The wayside cross was erected in 1881 and is now located at the old cemetery in Beuel (corner of Combahnstrasse and Kreuzstrasse). The cross was moved to its present location when St. Augustiner Strasse was widened. As part of the widening, in which a strip of the cemetery became a street, today's Grauwacke Wall and the St. Michaels Chapel were built.
