Lit is an American rock band from Orange County , California .

history

The music group was founded in 1990 as the metal band Razzle . A few years later the band name was changed to Stain , but since there was already a band of that name, the group was renamed again in 1996, this time to Lit.

The EP Five Smokin 'Tracks from Lit was released in 1996 . With the first album, Tripping the Light Fantastic , released in 1997 , the record company RCA Records became aware of Lit. In 1999 Lit released the disc A Place in the Sun , which developed into a successful album, as well as their song My own worst Enemy ( Eng . My own worst enemy ), which also appeared in the video game Rock Band 2 . Several successful single releases followed the album. Lit denied the following tour together with Silverchair , The Offspring and Garbage . 2001 saw the release of the band's third studio album, Atomic . It also features the hit Over My Head , which was used in the soundtrack for the animated film Titan AE In 2003, Lit changed labels and signed a new contract with the smaller label DRT Entertainment .

On July 26th, 2008 Adrian Young of No Doubt had a guest appearance with Lit. On August 13th, 2009 drummer Allen Shellenberger died at the age of 39 of a brain tumor. Nathan Walker joined the band on November 27, 2009 and has since been the new drummer and replacement for Allen Shellenberger. Ryan Gillmor joined the band in 2010. Here he now plays rhythm guitar and keyboard.
